Christmas & Winter Clipart 2

Inspiration often originates in the most unlikely places...

Last night, as I sat with my blank sheet of paper, black marker poised, I happened to look up and notice an old strainer sitting on my counter.

It's got a pretty star pattern... that's where this collection of clip art originated... from a strainer.

Take a fresh look at what surrounds you everyday... you never know what could come of it!

I hope you enjoy my 2nd collection of

Sweet Gingerbread Houses

My mom was SO sweet to make
gingerbread houses for my kids to decorate...

Thank you mom!!!

 Here they are being assembled...

Here are the finished houses.
Zachary's is on the scale ~ Olivia's is on the plate.

You might be wondering... where are pictures of the kids?

Well... they were supposed to decorate these...
but they ended up sticking around for about 5 minutes!
They started out SO excited to make these too...

Oh well!

Mom and I ended up sitting in the kitchen
having fun anyway!!

This morning the kids woke up smiling and
asking to see their gingerbread houses...
So, I guess everything worked out!!

By the way...
There aren't any nibbles from the
gingerbread houses or licks off the candies... yet!

Winter Thoughts

"The flowers of late winter and early spring
occupy places in our hearts
well out of proportion to their size."
~ Gertrude S. Wister ~

"I've been a dweller on the plains,
have sighed when summer days were gone;
No more I'll sigh; for winter here
Hath gladsome gardens of his own."

~ Dorothy Wordsworth

"In seed time learn, in harvest teach, in winter enjoy."
~ William Blake ~

"The cold was our pride, the snow was our beauty.
It fell and fell, lacing day and night together in a milky haze,
making everything quieter as it fell,
so that winter seemed to partake of religion
in a way no other season did, hushed, solemn."
~ Patricia Hampl ~

"I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure in the landscape - the loneliness of it - the dead feeling of winter.  Something waits beneath it - the whole story doesn't show."
~ Andrew Wyeth ~

"Have you ever noticed a tree
standing naked against the sky,
How beautiful it is?
All its branches are outlined,
and in its nakedness
There is a poem, there is a song.
Every leaf is gone and
it is waiting for the spring.
When the spring comes,
it again fills the tree with
the music of many leaves,
Which in due season fall
and are blown away.
And this is the way of life."

~ Krishnamurti ~

"In the depths of winter I finally learned
that within me there lay an invincible summer."
~ Albert Camus ~

"Every gardener knows that
under the cloak of winter lies a miracle...
a seed waiting to sprout,
a bulb opening to the light,
a bud straining to unfurl.
And the anticipation nurtures our dream."
~ Barbara Winkler ~

"There is no season such delight can bring,
As summer, autumn, winter and the spring."
~ William Browne, 1630 ~

It's not quite winter yet ~ but it feels like it here!

Have a beautiful December day,
wherever you are!
