You Love the Roses...

You love the roses... so do I. I wish
the sky would rain down roses, as they rain
from off the shaken bush. Why will it not?
Then all the valley would be pink and white
and soft to tread on. They would fall as light as feathers, smelling sweet; and it would be
like sleeping and like waking, all at once!

~ George Eliot ~

Isn't that poem beautiful?  Don't be fooled by the name...
George Eliot was a pen name for Mary Anne Evans,
an Englishwoman.  She is considered by many to be
one of the finest authors of the Victorian era.

  4. Oh, Megan, thank you so much for these gorgeous creations! Both backgrounds are beautiful, and you have given us a wonderful array of formats.: )

The poem is lovely, too; "like sleeping and like waking, all at once" is the perfect way to describe the scenario she imagines, and it's a turn of phrase I've never encountered before. Just beautiful.

    Thank you again.♥

  16. Beautiful! Yes, I love the poem very much and of course your stunning art-work! Megan, I very seldom check my spam folder but I did just now and found your comment there! (I'm getting a lot of junk in my comments and I think spammer is confused right now:)thank-you so much for your visit and your thoughts! A good quote is like a small poem-nugget! I love them too.

I am having a good week-end in spite of the fact that hubby did not make it home this week-end.

We had a family reunion and I hung out with Lucy and her fam:)

    Take care.

  29. Thanks so much for the printables! I love crafts and I always have new ideas but unfortunately crafting can get expensive. The Victorian roses are beautiful and being able to print them to use is such a blessing! Thanks for all you do!

  30. I love all of your work. It is so inspiring to me. You have a beautiful personality and it shows on your work. Thank you so much for helping me to restore my own personality with your work. I have a huge memory loss. This helps me think about what i use to create. Although your work is much more perfect. The fact that it is free for my family is what makes you such an amazing person.
