Crowned with Roses

Clear was the heaven and blue,
and May, with her cap crowned with roses,
Stood in her holiday dress in the fields,
and the wind and the brooklet m
urmured
gladness and peace,
God's-peace!

~ Henry W. Longfellow ~

The roses featured here are from the cover of a book
featuring Longfellow's poetry ~ from my personal collection.

I chose to leave the worn areas ~ these roses aged beautifully!

  4. Oh Megan, I saw the post card on pinterest and I just couldn't believe it! My grandmother lived on Randell Street in Baltimore....she passes away recently so to see this stopped me in my tracks!
It felt like a little hug from her, I will pin it and download later.
    Thanks so much for posting!

  9. I just absolutely love everything about this, and thank you for introducing me to all these wonderful poems. Dear Meagan, I hope I am not too forward, but I am just about to start a new challenge blog and am searching for a suitable image for the banner and the badges. Love Dragonflies, my colour scheme is blues and greens. I would be happy to pay for your contribution, do you have anything along those lines? I have yet to find a beautiful coloured vintage looking dragonfly, sigh.
