A Wise Old Owl

"A wise old owl sat on an oak;
The more he saw, the less he spoke;
The less he spoke the more he heard;
Why aren't we like that wise old bird?"

    1. Thank you missmacymay! I can assure you, the elements in this one didn't come together smoothly. At first, there wasn't going to be a moon... then the one I had just didn't look right. The branches weren't working, so then I used a black marker to draw some myself. The outside border was the finishing touch. It took a lot to finally say it was done, but I'm satisfied with how everything turned out :)

    1. Hi Lucy! You remind me of my mom, in that you can remember a poem like this you learned as a child :) I shared this with Olivia, and being her little 8 yr old self, she seemed to consider the meaning for a few seconds then she was off! I'll have to bring it up again sometime ;)

  8. What an absolutely brilliant use of the frame from The Sum of All Crafts! Only you, Megan, would see in it a moon to shine down on our wise old owl!♥

    I have loved owls for more decades than I am prepared to admit *eek*--and I am excited to be adding this handsome guy to my collection!

    What a perfect quote, too, and one that we can all learn from, no matter our age.

    Thank you, Megan, for brightening my day.: ) xoxo

    1. Hello Pat :) It was my second choice for the moon, but once I tried it there was no question it was "the one!" Also, thank you for checking my sources to see how I used the graphics :) I've had this amazing owl in mind for over a year now ~ so excited to finally feature him in my artwork!! Thank you for brightening my day as well :)
